Students share prospective ideas at NUST workshop

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE - The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences is hosting two days workshop titled Prosperity through Entrepreneurship conducted by the National University of Science and Technology. The workshop was a first round of the Discover Business Plan Competition by NUST. Students from the UVAS, COMSATS, University of Engineering and Technology, and Lahore University of Management Sciences participated in the workshop. Spokesman of the varsity said that the purpose of the workshop was to share the prospective business ideas of the students from different universities of Lahore and pick top three ideas for round 2 of the competition. NUST Innovation & Entrepreneurship Director r Qasim Sheikh explained difference between creativity and innovation and added, Our creativity dies before it takes the road of innovation. Prof Dr Ijaz Ahmad, the dean Faculty of Life Sciences Business Management of UVAS, provided an assurance of collaboration with NUST for establishing innovative culture in the country. Dr Qasim Sheikh, the director of the Innovation & Entrepreneurship NUST, Tahir Chaudhry, the president & CEO of Falcon Consultants, were in judges panel. The inter-university networking among the students made UVAS MBA (Life Sciences) students realise that knowledge and skills disseminated to them at UVAS are highly compatible to market challenges and needs.
