LAHORE (PR): PIA under its CSR programme has joined hands with Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre to help thousands of indigent cancer patients being treated by the hospital every year by permitting it to place its in-flight donation envelopes at domestic and international flights of PIA.

In this regard an agreement was signed between SKMCH&RC and Pakistan International Airlines in an event held in Karachi. SKMCH&RC’s Director Marketing Tariq Azam and PIA’s Director Food & Flight Services Amanullah Qureshi were the signing authorities from their respective organisations.

According to agreement, PIA through an announcement on board will also persuade its passengers to donate on voluntary basis to their preferred charity via the relevant in-flight envelopes to be made available in the front seat pockets on PIA aircraft. This facility will be very beneficial for the impoverished cancer patients being treated at most modern hospital of the country. It will also help to raise funds for construction of Pakistan’s second Shaukat Khanum Cancer Hospital being built in Peshawar for the patients from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and its vicinity.
