Pakistan Tehrik-e-Insaf leader Jahangir Khan Tareen has said that the election tribunal in Multan has accepted his petition for thumb impression verification of the votes cast in the NA-154 constituency during the May 11 general elections last year.

Talking to the journalists, he said that the election tribunal had accepted his plea to send the case to National Database Registration Authority and all the material related to the elections including the tribunal boxes will be sent to Nadra in the next three days.

Tareen was defeated by Siddique Khan Baloch from NA-154 Lodhran during the May 11, 2013 elections. Former law minister Abdul Hafeez Pirzada submitted the application for thumb verification on behalf of Jahangir Khan Tareen.

Mr Tarin claimed that Nadra certification would confirm his stance on manipulation of election and large scale rigging. He criticised Punjab Law Minister Rana Sanaullah for his statements and said that over 100,000 people attended PTI’s Islamabad sit in. Answering a question, he said the PTI Core Committee had supported peace talks with Taliban.

MEETING BACKS BLASPHEMY LAW: The Tehrik Tahaffuz Namoos-e-Risalat said that Friday would be marked as condemnation day against activities of Qadianis, adding that the lovers of Holy Prophet (PBUH) would protect the blasphemy law with their lives and foil the attempts of Qadianis aimed at getting this law repealed.

The meeting was attended by leading clerics from all schools of thought. It was also decided at the meeting that the clerics would adopt condemnation resolutions at Juma congregations. The participants strongly condemned a meeting recently organised by civil society in Arts Council which demanded elimination of blasphemy law.

“Qadianis are misleading public under the guise of NGOs being funded through foreign aid. Let’s make it clear that protection of Namoos-e-Risalat is integral part of our faith and we’ll protect it,” they declared.

They demanded the government should take notice of such activities otherwise the lovers of Holy Prophet would be forced to come out and thwart their designs.  The participants of the meeting also condemned life threats to lawyer Zulfiqar Sindhu and demanded arrest of those who attacked his house.
