Two female students were hit and killed by Karakorum Express near Railway Station Jahanian, about 35 kilometres from here on Wednesday.

The tragic accident took place early in the morning, when high-speed 41-up Karakoram Express from Karachi to Lahore crossed the railway station. When the train was crossing the station, the two student including Asiya Ashfaq and Aysha Irfan of Chak 113/10R reached there. At that time, a goods train was also on the railway line No3. A locomotive was shunting on railway line No1 and Karakorum Expressing was on the centre line. Meantime, the two girls were hit by Karakorum Express.

Resultantly, Asiya Ashfaq’s body were chopped off and she expired on the spot. Ayesha Irfan was seriously injured and referred to Nishter Hospital Multan where she was succumbed to the injuries. PR police Samasatha handed over the bodies after legal proceeding. Later, the students were laid to rest in their native village. A large number of people from all walks of life attended the funeral prayers.
