Rawalpindi - Punjab Minister for Labour and Manpower Raja Ashfaq Sarwar has said that dengue situation in Rawalpindi is under control at the moment.

However, he said that presence of larva in underground water tanks, junkyards, graveyards, under-construction buildings and open plots is a matter for concern and all concerned departments and organisations should discharge their responsibilities to tackle the situation efficiently. He expressed these views while presiding over fortnightly meeting of dengue preventive and control held in the committee room of Commissioner Office yesterday.

Raja Ashfaq Sarwar asked to ensure de-silting of all nullas, elimination of wild bushes and lifting of garbage from open plots before the monsoon season sets in. He also directed to include dengue larva data of Gujar Khan, Wah Cantt, Taxila and other joining areas in the report.

 He also directed for uploading correct data of dengue larva presence on dashboard so that proper remedial measures be adopted.

The DCO said the government departments having poor performance of dengue larva detection had been warned to improve their performance in according to the tasks indicated in the SOP. 

Director Local Government Mian Najeeb Aslam informed the meeting that additional teams for surveillance had been deputed in Rawalpindi. 

EDO Health Dr Arshad Ali Sabir briefed about the performance of government departments about dengue control.
