SAHIWAL -Split in the lawyers community failed the strike called by the District Bar Association to press the demand for the attachment of district Sahiwal to the Lahore High Court Lahore bench. According to the DBA sources, differences have been cropped up in the local lawyers and they have been divided in two groups. One of the groups led by Sahiwal Bar Association President Mehar Sadiq Tulla had given a call for the strike on Saturday. The DBA president has demanded the Lahore High Court Chief Justice to attach the district Sahiwal with the LHC Lahore bench instead of Multan Bench.
The other group led by Punjab Bar Council member Mehar Qutab Tariq and Advocate Iftikhar Khawar opposed the demand and said that if the district is detached from LHC Multan bench, they would launch a protest against it.
