JHANG-Fifteen persons including three women and a bus driver were killed in a horrible collision between a passenger bus and van at Adda Nasirabad on Jhang-Khushab Road here on Saturday.

The accident occurred in the remit of Kot Shakir Police, which left 12 other persons injured.

According to the police and rescuers, a Chakwal-bound passenger bus, coming from Karachi, collided head-on with a passenger van at Add Nasirabad near Kot Shakir. The police said that the accident took place due to speeding, as a result 10 persons were killed on the spot. Five others breathed their last in the hospital. The police and Rescue 1122 personnel rushed to the spot and shifted the injured and dead bodies to hospital. The deceased were identified as 45-year-old Sajjad Ali Shah, son of Kamal Shah, Muhammad Saleem, 45, son of Faiz, resident of Peshawar, 50-year-old Sadiq, son of Amjid, a resident of Hafizabad, 30-year-old Abdul Rasheed, son of Jamil, a resident of Attock, 50-year-Sadiq, son of Ahmed Khan, 30-year-old Amir Khan, son of Ahmed Khan, resident of Kot Shakir ,40-year-old Mosa Khan, son of Manzoor, 15-year-old Ali Hussain, son Mosa Khan, a resident of Khushab, 50-year-old Kalsoom Bibi, wife of Ghazi Khan, 15-year-old Maria, daughter of Ghazi Khan, a resident of Chakwal, nine-year-old Sana Batool, daughter of Abad Ali, resident of Basti Mochiwali Jhang, 22-year-old Kamran, son of Abdul Shakoor, a resident of Kamra, 45-year-old Ameer Hussain, son of Asghar Ali, 30-year-old Shaber Abbas, a resident of Jhang and a 25-year-old unidentified young man. The dead body of the unidentified man is still lying in the DHQ Hospital Jhang.

Some of the injured have been referred to Allied Hospital Faisalabad due to their critical condition.

The police have launched investigation into the incident.
