LAHORE - The Air Cairo has challenged a baggage handling contract awarded by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA) to an incompetent firm.

The counsel of the international airline claimed in a petition, filed in the Lahore High Court, that the CAA had sought quotations from different firms for baggage handling in International Area of Lahore airport.

Four companies submitted their bids for the contract, the petitioner said, adding that the firm, Air Cairo, qualified and the CAA accepted its bid rejecting all other three firms.

However, the petitioner expressed the fear that the civil aviation authority was going to award the same contract to a rejected firm, and a new letter in this regard has been issued to award contract to the said firm.

The petitioner has requested the LHC to stop CAA to not award contract to incompetent firm.
