ISLAMABAD - Information Minister Senator Pervaiz Rashid yesterday said Pakistan is firm in its resolve to further strengthen its all-weather strategic partnership with China.
He was inaugurating Chinese Mela organised here to celebrate 65th anniversary of Pakistan-China diplomatic relations. Rashid said Pak-China partnership serves the fundamental interests of the two countries and contributes to peace and prosperity of the two peoples.
He said better understanding between the two nations is a guarantor of sustained, solid and mutually beneficial relationship. The Minister said Pakistan appreciates Chinese economic and trade cooperation. He said One Road, One Belt initiative will help many countries including Pakistan to strengthen their economies.
Pervaiz Rashid specifically referred to China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. He said this would provide solid foundations for accelerated economic development in Pakistan. He said the two countries have also inked agreements for cooperation in culture and media.
Speaking on the occasion, Chinese Ambassador Sun Weidong said relations between Pakistan and China are based on mutual trust, respect, understanding, and cooperation.
The Ambassador said friendship between Pakistan and China is getting stronger and stronger with enhanced people to people contacts.
