Administering of oath by Khosa challenged

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE A local lawyer has challenged through a petition the oath administered by Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khan Khosa to newly-appointed LHC chief justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed. Advocate Afaq Ahmad submitted that appointment of Mr Khosa as Punjab governor was pending before the court. Questioning the presence of Punjab chief minister in oath taking ceremony, he submitted that acquittal of Shahbaz Sharif in fake encounter case is yet to be decided by the LHC. The Petitioner further raised objections on the portraits of President Asif Ali Zardari and Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, exhibited in the ceremony. He said case pertained to holding of political office by President was also pending in the high court while Z.A Bhutto (late) was convicted by the court. Mr. Ahmad pleaded that under such situation Justice Sheikh Azmat Saeed should have not taken oath by the current Punjab governor.
