The tight lipped Hussain Haqqani, Pakistan's ambassador to the United States, who landed in Islamabad a couple of days ago will explain his position today to the civil and military leadership about his alleged involvement in the memo case which has stirred the nation. On Sunday, Haqqani held his meeting with President Asif Ali Zardari and reportedly discussed the whole gamut of the memo saga. There was no official word on the meeting. Haqqani was whisked away by the authorities from the back door of the airport soon after his landing at Benazir International Airport to avoid the media. Since then, nobody knows about his whereabouts. This is also absolutely unusual on the part of Haqqani to remain silent on these defining moments. He is still waiting for his meeting with Prime Minister Yusuf Raza Gilani. No escape for him this time as his crucial meetings with the military leadership are going to decide his fate.
