ISPR, PTI deny Imran-Munter-Pasha meeting

ISLAMABAD (INP) - An ISPR spokesman and Pakistan Tehrike Insaf (PTI) Monday denied a news report which alleged that Imran Khan met US Ambassador Cameron Munter in the presence of ISI Chief General Ahmed Shuja Pasha. The ISPR termed the story 'totally baseless and concocted. PTI reacted strongly to the news published in some papers about Imran-Munter meeting facilitated by the ISI Chief General Shuja Pasha. In a statement released from the partys office at Islamabad, PTI Secretary General Dr Arif Alvi said that the news item was totally fabricated and false and appeared to be an attempt to provide support to the false propaganda unleashed by PML-N and its coterie that PTI had the establishment support. The allegation is an attempt to divert the attention of the people from the fast-declining popularity of PML-N because of the failure of its government in Punjab and its anti-people policies that it practiced during its two tenures in the federal capital. Its failed rallies in Lahore and Faisalabad had driven it to desperation and it was venting its venom on PTI.He reiterated that such attempts would not dent Chairman Imran Khans growing popularity and the flocking of people to his party and programme which was meant to bring about a change in policies of the status quo and align them with the needs and aspirations of the people of Pakistan. He said that PTI was sending a strong letter to the Sunday Times to retract the the claim.
