Bahawalpur - Jamaat-e-Islami Central Ameer Syed Munawar Hassan has demanded trial of President Asif Zardari and Hussain Haqqani under Article-6 of the Constitution for what he said conspiracies against the nation and country. Addressing a press conference here on Monday, Munawar Hassan pointed out that the Haqqani Memo issue was not a usual one and that it should be taken seriously as President Asif Zardari and Hussain Haqqani were equally responsible for it, adding that they should be taken to task as Haqqani could never take any such step without President Zardaris permission and consent. The JI chief also condemned the governments recent step to declare India, as the most favourite nation which he termed quite astonishing. He questioned that without resolving the Kashmir issue, how India could be awarded the status of a most favourite nation, adding that it had been happened on the orders of the rulers masters to please them. Syed Munawar argued that it was a clear fact that America could never be a loyal friend as it would also never quit Afghanistan and would remained there to ensure constant threat to Pakistan, Iran and China as America wanted to destroy our nuclear installations. The JI chief warned that India had been hell-bent on destabilize Pakistan through Balochistan and would take full benefit of the MFN status. Referring to a question, he predicted that no single party could claim landslide victory in the next elections and the JI could opt for electoral alliance with all political parties except the ruling one. He underlined the need for promotion of healthy traditions in politics and avoiding mud-slinging against each other.
