PESHAWAR - Scores of the Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) of tehsil Bara, Khyber Agency, set up a protest demonstration against the apathy of the authorities concerned towards their problems on Monday. They were demanding the govt to register all the displaced families from tehsil Bara, who had to leave their hometown due to military operation against militants, and provide them with basic facilities in the makeshift camp. The banners and placards displayed in front of the protest camp here at Sher Shah Suri Road were inscribed with different slogans in favour of their demands and against the apathetic behaviour of the government. The protesters, led by Shah Faisal Afridi, head of the self-made Tehreek-e-Mutasireen, Khyber Agency, Vice Chairman Haji Raees and Haji Ibrahim, said hundreds of tribal families had been displaced and were compelled to take shelter in a makeshift camp, while some families were living in rented houses and the houses of relatives. They said approximately 70,00 families were living in Jalozai Camp without any basic amenities of life and only 950 of them had been registered, while the remaining ones being still unregistered were waiting for government aid.
