Pragmatic style to be adopted to uproot narcotics

OUR STAFF REPORTER LAHORE Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir said on Monday that an effective and pragmatic methodology would be adopted to uproot the scourge of narcotics in the provincial metropolis. According to an official handout issued here, CCPO said the police had launched a special campaign against the drug dealers and during the last 10 months (January to October) 9,156 cases were registered and 9,517 accused were arrested. The police also recovered 339-kg heroin, 971 kg chars, 432 kg opium, 141 kg hashish, 657 intoxicating pills, 2008 injections and 58,455 bottles of liquor from the possession of the criminals during the same period, CCPO revealed. POSTNGS AND TRANSFERS: Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Ahmad Raza Tahir on Monday ordered transfers and postings of four DSPs with immediate effect. According to a police spokesman, DSP Data Darbar Muhammad Mumtaz has been transferred and posted as SDPO Naulakha, DSP Shams-ul-Haq from Security Division to SDPO Township, Muhammad Mansha SDPO Township to DSP Security Division, whereas DSP Malik Munzoor from SDPO Naulakha to DSP Mobiles Civil Lines.
