LAHORE Former PPP leader, Shah Mehmood Qureshi has three political options under consideration, formation of an independent group comprising PPP rebels, making a political arrangement with PML-N, while PTI likely to be the last option of the powerful Makhdoom of Multan, The Nation has learnt. Close aides of former Foreign Minister, Shah Mehmood Qureshi confided to The Nation on Monday that formation of an independent group is likely to be the top priority of Qureshi provided he grabs the support of a sizeable number of the sitting members of National Assembly and Punjab Assembly. They further said that they could forge alliance with PML-N if they secure an impressive support of the sitting Parliamentarians, belonging to Punjab, adding, that the option of joining the PML-N could materialise if Qureshi would be given a meaningful position in PML-N Punjab. About the option of joining hands with PTI, they maintained that this option falls as the last political alternative of the former PPP heavy weight, as Qureshi could either form a coalition with the PTI or join Imran Khan alongwith his colleagues. However, they said that former Foreign Minister would not join the PTI less than the position of central President with meaningful party powers at his disposal. Close circles of Qureshi also told this correspondent that meeting to be held between Qureshi and his likely new colleagues comprising PPP dissidents, which were earlier scheduled from November 21st, now rescheduled for November 25th, as the current members of Qureshis camp desire to get the outcome of the meeting between him and Nawaz Sharif on Tuesday (today).
