ISLAMABAD (APP) Work on Iran-Pakistan Gas Pipeline Project would be expedited by opening a branch office of the Inter State Gas System (Private) Ltd. (ISGS) in Gawadar and Sukkur. This was informed by Secretary, Petroleum and Natural Resources Muhammad Ejaz Chaudhry in a meeting with Chief Minister Balochistan, Nawab Mohammad Aslam Raisani, held here on Monday. During the meeting the CM assured that Government of Balochistan would facilitate the federal government in land acquisition for the project. They also discussed Turkmenistan - Afghanistan - Pakistan - India (TAPI) pipeline project. Aghaz-e-Huqooqe Balochistan announced by the Prime Minister was also discussed and it was committed that Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources would facilitate the Government of Balochistan in providing employment opportunities to the locals in various Oil & Gas projects. It was also proposed by the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources that a separate Energy department may be established in the Balochistan Provincial Government, for which the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Resources will provide all possible assistance.
