LAHORE Indian wrestler Satinder Singh easily defeated Pakistani wrestler Shahid Khoewala and continued winning spree in the three-match Indo-Pak Punjab Dangal Series to take 2-0 lead here at Punjab Stadium on Monday. Hamza Shahbaz Sharif was the chief guest on the occasion, witnessed the main bout and later gave away trophies to winner and runner-up in the prize distribution ceremony. The 24-year old Indian wrestler made short work of a weak challenger, the 26 year old Shahid Khoewala through greater anticipation and power to register two back-to-back victories, following up his superb run in the opening bout at Gujranwala. Satinder in his first bout at Gujranwala defeated Jani Pehalwan. The third and last dangal of the series will be held at Gujranwala on November 23. Talking to this scribe, Sutander Singh said: "It was not a tough competition for me as I was fully excited and ready to floor down Shahid and I did not give him a chance to put me under pressure. He tried a lot to down me but I just dashed it and floored him down." "I am glad with the warm welcome by the Punjabis and am thankful to all of them for coming and watching the dangal. I believe it was a very good dangal and it will help in further promoting the traditional style of wrestling in Indian and Pakistan," he added. Next time, more wrestlers will come from India and there will be more bouts between the wrestlers of both the nations and we will also like to invite Pakistani wrestlers in our country, he concluded.
