NAB files corruption case against govt official

ISLAMABAD - The National Accountability Bureau has has filed a reference in the Accountability Court, Islamabad, against Mola Bux Awan, former joint secretary Housing and Works Ministry on the charges of illegal recruitments in Pak PWD on daily wages/work charge basis.  
The accused was granted additional charge as acting secretary of the ministry for 3 days to look after the routine office work in the absence of the then secretary housing who was abroad. There was no notification issued by the competent authority with respect to exercise of administrative or financial powers by the accused during his three days.  Despite the government ban on recruitments and without obtaining any NoC from the Establishment Division, the then DG Pak PWD, Gulab Zameer, submitted a request on 14-02-2012 for approval of look-after Secretary Housing for extension in work period of 92 already appointed employees and for fresh appointment of 654 employees in Pak PWD. The request was approved by Mola Bux on 15-02-2012 in violation of government rules.
