LAHORE - Nazaria Pakitan Trust (NPT) has established a book stall at the Jamaat-i-Islami Ijtima at Minar-i-Pakistan.
CDs, Posters and other stuff concerning to Pakistan Movement and dignitaries has been placed on the stall. A large number of people showed interest in the items kept there, lauding the NPT efforts.
Cleanliness plan:  The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has deployed a crew of 150 workers, along with necessary equipments and machinery, to maintain a clean site for Minar-e-Pakistan Ijtima of Jamaat-e-Islami, where thousands of people from all over the country are gathering.
Special arrangements are being ensured including regular sweeping of the area, waste picking, and mechanical washing of adjacent roads and timely removal of waste containers through compactors. Camps have also been setup to facilitate operations besides registering and resolving complaints regarding cleanliness.
Arrangements will remain intact all three days of the congregation in close coordination with district government administration. Operations are being monitored through android mobile system and pictorial record is being maintained.
Senior Manager Operations Suhail Anwar Malik, Manager Operation Fahad Aslam and Assistant Manager Jazib Saeed supervising the operations and will also remain on duty for monitoring purpose. A zero waste operation will be carried out at the end of the process to clear the area.
Meanwhile, the LWMC along with The Environment Protection Foundation (TEPF) is organising a Campaign for Clean Pakistan from today (Saturday) which will be attended by various leading organisations working for clean environment. Some 500 students from schools, colleges and universities will also participate by doing sweeping activity at the venue.
Famous TV actor Adeel Hashmi will lead the campaign which includes awareness walk, door stepping, waste picking and verbal briefing of citizens and visitors against the curse of littering and use of plastic bags.
