Islamabad- Power tariff has been slashed by 46 paisas per unit under the directives of Prime Minister (PM) Nawaz Sharif.
Ministry of power has  sent the formal request to National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) for reduction in power tariff.
According to the spokesman PM house performance report on cost of electricity and its supply and demand was presented to PM who directed ministry of water and power to scale down power tariff by 46 paisas per unit.
In compliance with PM Nawaz Sharif directives ministry of water and power curtailed the power tariff by 46 paisas per unit and sent the formal request to NEPRA for reduction in power tariff. The reduction has been made under fuel adjustment surcharge for the month of October. Relief will be passed on to the consumers following the approval of reduction of tariff by NEPRA.
