ISLAMABAD - Chairman Kashmir Committee Maulana Fazlur Rahman said that politics of sit-ins has not only badly affected the country but also put negative effects on the Kashmir’s freedom movement. “Kashmir committee meeting will shortly be called to evolve a new strategy in the fast changing circumstances,” said Maulana Fazlur Rahman, while addressing a conference organised by the Islamic Political Party Jammu and Kashmir at the Kashmir House.

Fazl said that strategy would be evolved with joint consensus in a bid to create an impact that solution of Kashmir issue is a vital for lasting peace in the Indian Sub-Continent.

He said that Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had participated in Indian PM’s oath-taking ceremony as a goodwill gesture.

“Pakistan wants resolution of all problems, including Kashmir issue with its neighbouring countries and PM had attended the oath-taking in this spirit,” he said. The JUI-F chief said that he had held a detailed meeting with the prime minister and discussed with him in length the Kashmir’s related issues.

He said that he would visit Europe next month to hold meeting with the UK, Belgium, European parliament members in this context.

Speaking on the occasion, MQM’s Senior Leader Haider Abbas Rizvi also emphasised that solution of Kashmir issue is vital for durable peace in the region. He also linked the solution of Kashmir with development of the region.

President Azad Kashmir Sardar Yaqoob Khan said that Pakistan needs to take solid steps for helping the flood-affected people of occupied Kashmir.   

Expressing solidarity with the flood-affected people of occupied Kashmir a resolution was also passed in the conference. It was also announced in the conference that Kashmir leaders would stage a sit-in in Islamabad on Nov 25 (first stage of election in occupied Kashmir) near the UN office Islamabad from 11:00am to 1:00pm.

The conference was also attended by Syed Yusuf Naseem, Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Abdul Majeed Mir, Abdul Hameed Lon and other senior leaders.
