ISLAMABAD: The government has released over 25 billion rupees for cash assistance and rehabilitation of temporarily displaced persons so far.

According to officials, Rs.80 billion will be incurred on the rehabilitation of displaced persons over the next three years.

They said about seventy thousand displaced families have been repatriated to Khyber Agency, five thousand seven hundred and seventy to North Waziristan and seven thousand nine hundred and forty people returned to South Waziristan.

The officials said the government is giving priority to the complete rehabilitation of displaced families in their areas. Work is in progress for reconstruction of destroyed infrastructure.
