Islamabad: President Mamnoon Hussain has said serious efforts are being made to make Pakistan free of polio.

Speaking at the annual conference of the Pakistan Society of Neuro Physicians in Karachi, he said regional situation has largely contributed to the spread of disease. He called upon the international community to adopt a favorable approach towards Pakistan for the elimination of the crippling disease.

Referring to economic situation of the country, the President said after successfully overcoming difficulties, the country is now in a take-off position. He said fostering economic progress and stability is the collective responsibility of the nation.

Mamnoon Hussain declared that drive against terrorism and lawlessness will continue till complete cleansing of country of such ills.
