DIAMER - Police averted an attack of terrorists on a police station here on Saturday. The attackers managed to escape after retaliatory action by police.

DIG Inayatullah Farooqi said that 8 to 10 terrorists stormed Jal police station in Chilas, the district headquarters of district Diamer in Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

The police retaliated in a befitting manner forcing the terrorists to flee from the scene. The police station building was partially damaged in the attack.

The DIG said that the terrorists wanted to take away official weapons from the police station but police foiled the bid.

Heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area after the attack and launched search but the assailants managed to flee.
