PESHAWAR: Three personnel of FC were killed and another eight were injured when a convoy of Commandant FC Liaquat Ali was targeted in Bashirabad area of the city here today.

The bomb exploded when the FC vehicle was passing from the site, police said. A rickshaw nearby was also damaged from the explosion. 

According to police sources, an improvised explosive device (IED) placed on a roadside in Bashirabad area of Peshawar detonated.  The blast occurred near the vehicle of Commandant FC Liaquat Ali who was returning after attending the funeral of mother of a local journalist. Three FC personnel died on the spot while eight were injured. The injured and the bodies were rushed to Lady Reading hospital.

Police and bomb disposal squad immediately arrived at the scene and cordoned off the area.

Meanwhile a terrorist was arrested at Haji camp adda in Peshawar. Police said that terrorist Zakir had a bounty of five lakh rupees on his head.
