NEW DELHI : Following the imposition of ban on Islamic Research Foundation (IRF), a non-profit organisation of Islamic Scholar Dr Zakir Naik, the Indian government has blocked its website of IRF as well.

According to Indian media reports, Indian government has decided to contact United States for blocking his pages on social media websites as well. An Indian investigative agency filed an FIR against Dr Zakir Naik for fomenting enmity among religions. Ten offices of IRF located in Maharashtra, were raided as crack down by Indian government against Dr Zakir Naik and IRF is underway.

If Dr Zakir Naik does not come to India to face the case then NIA will issue non bailable arrest warrants against him. Through Interpol, pressure will be mounted on Saudi Arabia for bringing back him from Saudi Arabia to India. Days after militants killed more than 20 hostages in Bangladesh, Indian and Bangladeshi law enforcement agencies launched a probe against the speeches of Naik, whose sermons were said to have allegedly inspired two of the Dhaka attackers. "I disagree that I inspired this act of killing innocent people," Naik said declaring "terrorism is Devilish.”

Naik told Indian press that he condemns the attack. “By using the name Islamic State, we are condemning Islam. They are the 'anti-Islamic state of Iraq and Syria' that has killed innocent foreigners. The name is given by enemies of Islam,” he said.
