BUCHAREST:-Competitors steered drones speedily through gates and pylons at the weekend for the final race of the 2016 season for the Drone Champions League, held in Romania. After familiarising themselves with the course at Romania’s “Salina Turda” salt mines, the drone racers, wearing virtual reality goggles to see the track in real-time, battled it out on Sunday with speeds of up to 140 kph (87 mph). In the end, Poland’s Mac Poshwald came out triumphant in the last race, saying he had been “lucky”: “It was just my day, like another day there is going to be someone else faster there are so many talented pilots here.”-
