LAHORE -  A special sitting in commemoration of Pir Syed Mehr Ali Shah Golra Sharif was jointly organised by Nazaria-i-Pakistan Trust and Pakistan Movement Workers Trust at the Aiwan-i-Karkunan-i-Tehreek-i-Pakistan yesterday.

Sajjada Nashin Pir Syed Ghulam Mueenul Haque Gillani was the chief guest while the proceedings were conducted by Muhammad Imran Shakir Golarvi.

The speakers observed Pir Syed Meher Ali Shah played a key role in the movement of “Khatam-e-Nabuwat”. They said Shah was a true lover of the Holy Prophet (PBUH). “We must comprehend his message fully.”

Punjab Auqaf Director-General Dr Syed Tahir Raza Bokhari observed Pir Syed Meher Ali Shah brilliantly defended the doctrine of the finality of the prophethood of Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He possessed a high stature in the realm of knowledge and intellect.

Begum Bushra Rehman observed that the memory of Pir Syed Mehar Ali Shah will live in the minds and hearts of people for ever. “We must act upon the message of those we claim to love.”

Allama GA Haque Chishti observed Pir Syed Meher Ali Shah awakened the passion of the love for the Holy Prophet (PBUH) in the Indian Muslims through his thought and action.

Allama Samiul Haque Golarvi observed Pir Syed Meher devoted his life to propagate the doctrine of Islam. He eliminated the mischief of Qadiniyyat, he added.

Those who graced the sitting with their presence included Sajjada Nasheen Dargah-i-Aliya Ajmer Sharif Pir Syed Bilal Shah, Astana-i-Aliya Pakpattan Sharif Pir Mueen-ud-Din Diwan, Syed Akbar Shah and a large number of scholars, saints and devotees of Astana-i-Aliya Golra Sharif.

At the end, Pir Syed Ghulam Mueen-ul-Haque Gillani led a session of prayers.
