Conference on e-learning concludes

LAHORE - A two-day international conference on e-learning and distance education concluded here on Tuesday.

The conference was organised under the theme “Envisioning future: rethinking, reshaping, redesigning education”. Renowned educationists from Germany, Malaysia, Indonesia and Pakistan addressed different sessions of the conference. Dr Nizamuddin, chairman of the Punjab Higher Education Commission, was the chief guest at the closing ceremony.

Addressing the conference, University of Education Vice Chancellor Dr Rauf-i-Azam said e-learning had brought a revolution in education and the government should try its level best to assist e-learning through visionary policies. He said, “We should follow the concept of mass-customization in education.” He said “we have introduced the e-learning system at the University of Education that is going on very successfully”.

Addressing the conference, Punjab Higher Education Commission Chairman Dr Nizamuddin said e-learning had become integral part of education all over the world. E-learning is future of education. He said “our mission should not be to impart information to our students in the name of education rather we should try to develop their analytical skills”.
