Rawalpindi - The ground-breaking ceremony of Multi Sports Complex was held at the Rawalpindi Press Club on Tuesday.

Former MNA and Chairman Punjab Sports Staring Committee Muhammad Hanif Abbasi laid down foundation stone of Multi Sports Complex as chief guest.

The ceremony was also attended by President National Press Club Islamabad Shakil Anjum, Secretary General Imran Yaqub Dhulon, representatives of Crime and Courts Reporters Association Rawalpindi (CCRAR), journalists of various organisations, Mayor Sardar Nasim Ahmed, ex-MNA Malik Shakil Awan, MPA Zaib un Nisa Awan and Chairman WASA Zia Ullah Shah.

Addressing the ceremony, ex-MNA Muhammad Hanif Abbasi said the multi sports complex is being constructed to the tune of Rs10.14 million released by Punjab government and the complex would be completed till December 31, 2017. He said Chief Minister Punjab Mian Shehbaz Sharif has been taking keen interest in sports related activities and projects worth Rs8 billion would be allocated for South Punjab in this regard. Abbasi said N-League rejected politics based on allegations and abuses and served the masses by launching development projects. He said the government launched Metro Bus Service to provide best quality travelling facilities to people of Rawalpindi and Islamabad. “Journalists are availing the facility of MBS as it takes forty minutes to reach Islamabad from Rawalpindi,” he said. He said Rawalpindi Press Club got much funds as compared with the other clubs in the province.

Coming hard on Awami Muslim League (AML) President and MNA Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, Hanif Abbasi said that he deceived his voters and was levelling baseless allegations against his opponents. He said N-League is united under the wise leadership of party’s president Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and would bag thumping majority in upcoming general elections.
