Pr islamabad - Ivy Youth Leadership Olympiad 2017, a student-led school and college annual talent competition began Tuesday in a spectacular grand opening ceremony. The event jointly hosted by six IVY campuses that included Riverview, DHA, University, Westridge, F-8 and Chaklala campus was based on the theme of French festival “La Carnival Dé IYLO”.  The ceremony featured carnival stalls, fortune tellers, food vendors, balloons, doves, puppets, merry-go-rounds, joy-rides, masquerades, games, coronation ceremony, lighting of the Olympic beacon and a flag parade.

   Roots IVY is known for having the largest talent competition and the most well-reputed extra-curricular student activities in Pakistan for the past decade. IVY Youth Leadership Olympiad 2017 signifies the cohesion of vision, leadership and intellect enabling students to recognize their talents and come up with ingenious and innovative ideas to compete with the nation’s best. Over 3,000 students from all over Pakistan as well as from prestigious institutes all over the world participated in this illustrious event. The competitions included IVY MUN, Literature Boulevard, Declamation Contest, Ad-Making, E-Gaming, Battle of the Bands, Fashion Show, Business Idea Contest, Math Olympiad, Master Chef , Street Graffiti, Thematic Art, Talent Hunt/ Treasure Hunt/ Amazing Race, Dramatics, Film Making, Spelling Bee, Battle of Fandoms, Science Flair, Brain Teaser, Thematic Costume Contest  and Photography contest.

Dr Khadija Mushtaq, CEO Roots IVY International Schools, officially inaugurated the four day talent-marathon and welcomed all the guests and delegates along with their respective teachers from educational institutes all over Pakistan.

She encouraged them to avail dynamic opportunities to explore their hidden talents and compete with the brightest. She also congratulated the IVY team and students for their tremendous efforts.

Speaking on the occasion she said, “The active participation of all the delegates is a testament to their hard work, passion, and energy. This is the spirit of IYLO that binds us together with the universal morals of respect, peace, tolerance, harmony and team spirit.”

The chief guests for the opening ceremony included members from the diplomatic community, Maiza Hameed, Ahmed Butt- Sp. Asst. to Minister Ahsan Iqbal, Khurram Idrees – Brands Pakistan, Maryam & Noman from Al-Shifa Eye Trust, Umair 401 Bakers, etc. and honorable judges along with members of the media. They were highly impressed by the aptitude of the young students and awarded shields to the winners.

Renowned names in literature, science, fashion, arts, and gastronomy, were invited to be a part of this mega event. Impressive performances by the participants stole each show and managed to overwhelm the crowd. The Ivy Olympiad team worked hard to make this event an amazing experience.
