CHAKWAL - The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf on Tuesday announced Raja Tariq Fazal as its candidate for the by-election on PP-20 on Tuesday.

The party president for North Region, Raja Amir Kiyani, announced the party ticket at the District Office Chakwal.

Maj (retired) Tahir Sadiq, former MNA Sardar Mansoor Hayat Tamman and Pir Waqar Hussain Shah were also present on the occasion.

Three candidates Ali Nasir Bhatti, Chaudhary Taimoor Ali Khan (Advocate) and Raja Tariq Afzal have applied for the party ticket.

The PTI Chairman Imran Khan himself finalised the candidate after consulting with the local party office bearers.

Kiyani, while talking to the media expressed confidence that the PTI candidate Tariq Afzal had the potential to compete with the PML-N candidate.

He further said that Ali Nasir Bhatti and Chaudhary Taimoor Advocate were also very strong candidates.

Responding to a question, Kiyani was of the view that like-minded opposition parties would be contacted to get their support.

Kiyani said that the whole political scenario of the country had been changed after the verdict of the Supreme Court against Nawaz Sharif.

He said that the PP-20 by-election result would show that the mind of the people of the Punjab had changed.
