18th Westbury Ranking Tennis Championship commences

LAHORE - Zain Nawab stunned fourth seed Ibrahim Iltifat in the first round of men’s singles in the 18th Westbury Ranking Tennis Championship that commenced at DA Creek Club, Karachi. 
According to M Khalid Rehmani, the prestigious event started in a great style and all the seeded players advanced to the next round except Ibrahim Iltifat, who was upset by young Zain Nawab with a score of 6-0, 6-2 in the men’s singles first round. In other men’s singles first round matches, Ali Asif beat Fahad Abid 6-2, 6-2 and Raahim Veqar beat Ibadur Rehman 6-1, 6-1. Earlier in the men’s singles qualifying round, Shariq Rameez beat Salman Ahmed 7-5, 6-3, Bilal Soomro beat Muhammad Awais 6-1, 6-2, Imran KC beat Durraiz Vazeer 6-4, 6-1 and Mustafa Tariq beat Zeeshan Vazeer 6-3, 6-1. 
In U-17 singles first round, Ahsan Ahmed beat Ali Hasan 6-0, 6-0, Samer Zaman beat Kashan Tariq 5-7, 6-4, 10-4. In U-15 singles first round, Dhuraf Das beat Ayan Allawala 4-0, 4-2, Abdullah Razaq beat Imdad Ali 3-5, 4-2, 4-2, Samer Zaman beat Rayyan Khan 4-1, 4-1, Natalia got w/o against Abdul Nafay, Ahsan Ahmed beat Kazim Gheewala 4-0, 4-0. 
In U-13 singles first round, Abdullah Razaq beat Mahad Shehzad 5-3, 4-0, Hamza Tahir beat Bilal Siddiqui 4-1, 4-2. In U-11 singles first round, Hamza Tahir beat Aman Sheikh 4-2, 4-2, Mahad Shehzad beat M Qasim 4-1, 4-1, Zayd Zaman beat Eshal Zain 4-1, 4-1, Yahya Faraz beat Fariha Imran 4-0, 4-0 and Aahil Imran beat Rohan Das 5-4, 4-2.
