According to a private channel, the ex-Attorney General Latif Khosa allegedly collected Rs. 3, 000, 000 (three millions) to pass on to a Supreme Court judge. He got this money from an engineer who was being tried by the Supreme Court for corruption. I wish the news were not true. But if it is, could there be anything more demeaning for the judiciary of the country as it concerns the highest platform of judiciary, the Supreme Court? Look at the gall of this engineer; he was attempting to bribe a judge of the apex court through the leading black coat of the country, the Attorney General? Some serious food for thought for the CJP who is trying his best to create an independent judiciary in Pakistan. -COLONEL (Rtd) RIAZ JAFRI, Rawalpindi, October 21.
