ISLAMABAD Three more victims of the twin blasts in International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) on Tuesday have expired here on Wednesday. Two of the injured were in PIMS, while the third injured, who expired on Wednesday, is said to have been in NESCOM hospital. Wasim Khawaja confirmed two more deaths at the PIMS but he expressed his inability to say anything about the victims shifted to NESCOM. It is relevant to note here that no media was allowed access inside the NESCOME hospital and there was no official window to get information about the victims shifted to NESCOM. That is why perhaps, the students of the IIUI, who witnessed the twin blasts on Tuesday, claim the death toll was much higher than announced by authorities. Students of the University, who were protesting against the brutal act of terrorism, claimed they witnessed many more injured and dead bodies at the blasts sites than the figures floated by security and hospital authorities. The controversy geared up further when the President of the University claimed that 35 students of the University got injured in the blast against the statement of PIMS spokesperson Dr Wasim Khawaja that there were only 19 injured victims brought in the hospital. Dr Wasim said that two female students, Aqsa and Amna, are in critical position and kept in PIMS surgical ICU while a male student is in serious condition as he is 60 percent burnt. He said that seven dead bodies were brought including two workers and three students. At present 19 students are being treated; excluding the three students, others are in instable condition, he informed.
