ISLAMABAD - The digital publication of Trademark Journal has been introduced in the Trademark Registry of Intellectual Property Organization (IPO), which was long awaited demand of the right owners. According to the press statement issued here, the automated publication of TM Journal would enable the applicants to get their Trademarks registered without any unnecessary delay. The inaugural ceremony was held at TM Registry Civic Center Karachi on Thursday. Chairman IPO-Pakistan Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi was the chief guest along with Director General IPO Sajjad Ahmad Bhutta. The ceremony was attended by Director IPO Meesaq Arif, Registrar of Trade Mark Khalid Hidayat Khan, Registrar of Copyright Shakeel Ahmed Abbasi and Controller of Patent Sabir Gul Khattak. Addressing on the occasion, Hameed Ullah Jan Afridi said that IPO-Pakistan is gradually progressing to develop its automation system by adopting latest IP technologies and this would help to address the difficulties of applicants in getting their Trademarks registered. Afridi said that Digital Publication of Trade Marks Journal (TMJ) would bring Pakistan at par with the developed countries like UK, Australia and Singapore that are already doing Digital Publication of Trade Marks Journal.
