OUR STAFF REPORTER HAFIZABAD The District Health Department in collaboration with Rescue-1122 organised a walk here to create awareness against dengue fever on Friday. The walk was led by MPA Asadullah Arain, District Officer Health Dr Khalid Farooq and Safety Officer Rescue-1122. A large number of school students also participated in the walk. Addressing the gathering, MPA Asadullah stressed the need for clean and hygienic atmosphere to contain the dengue mosquitoes. The MPA said that the present government was fully aware of the epidemic and provided test facilities even in the remote health centres and dispensaries. He said that dengue fever is curable and the government particularly the health department officers and students were striving to create awareness among the public to save themselves from the epidemic. He said seminars being held in almost all the schools and colleges in the area to prevent the public from this menace. He said that a large number of posters, leaflets and pamphlets carrying informative material about the disease were being distributed in hospitals and among public so that they could take preventive measures against the dengue virus.
