RAWALPINDI - Khan Research Laborites (KRL) survive strong Pakistan Air Force (PAF) resistance before edging them out 2-1 here on Friday during the Eighth Premier Soccer League match currently underway at Rawalpindi Municipal Stadium. KRL stared the match as firm favourites and as the proceedings started it was looking that KRL will going to win this match with utmost ease as their strike force continued to launch barrage of attacks on PAF goal. The PAF defence was stretch to limit and they were finding it too hard to handle the ever-mounting KRL attacks. PAF boys saved at least two clear cut goal scoring opportunities and KRL was very unlucky as the ball hit the post twice as the PAF goalie was clearly beaten by the strong KRL strike force led by their ace shooter M Asif Rizwan. But all their efforts fail to bring any fruit as the match was locked at 0-0 for the first 20 minutes of the first half. After repeated attempts on PAF goals, KRL change their tactics and depute another striker to further enhance their goal scoring options, the move immediately paid off as Asif cleverly put the ball in to the empty PAF goal after beating the rushing goalie in the 22nd minute. Asif doubled the lead in the 34th minute. That proved to be turning point for PAF team as they begin to regroup and started to play positively and their efforts paid off in the 42nd minute when M Aamir scored for the PAF. After the restart of the second half, both teams played open game and launched numerous attacks but both teams failed to utilise their chances and the match ended 2-1 in favour of the KRL.
