LAHORE Acting Chairman Emergency Response Committee Gulberg Town, MPA Nighat Sheikh Friday ordered the Town Municipal Officer to submit detailed list of about 55 open plots within a day. She also directed the Lahore Waste Management Company and Parks and Horticulture Authority to remove heaps of garbage as well as bushes from such plots on urgent basis. In a meeting held here, she also directed the DDO Health and TMO to submit detailed report about chemicals and insecticides which were being used in fogging and fumigation within the limits of the town. A report about shops, selling sanitary goods were also submitted in the meeting, which was declared unsatisfactory and the officials were directed to prepare report again after consultations with the experts. Meanwhile, Chairman Dengue Control Committee Nishter Town, Naseer Bhutta MNA said that students can inform about preventive steps against dengue virus in a better way. He expressed these views at the awareness seminars organised by Nishtar Town Administration at Government Boys High School Bagrian and CDGL Girls High School Green Town, Dar-e-Arqam Township. He said that students were informing the people about spray and precautionary measures against dengue virus in individual and collective communications. Naseer Bhutta MNA said that youngsters, NGOs and students should extend full cooperation to the government for eradication of dengue virus and join the ongoing campaign in this regard. While the government was extending all possible cooperation to the students and educational institutions for holding seminars and walks in this regard. While addressing a seminar at Government Boys High School Jiabagga, Member Dengue Control Committee Nishter Town, Rana Musbasher Iqbal, Ex-MPA said that students were fighting war against dengue virus shoulder to shoulder with the government. He said that dengue fever was a curable disease and it will be controlled with the cooperation of citizens especially the students. He said that students should apprise the people of precautionary measures against dengue.
