LAHORE - Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said that Pakistan was not created after numerous sacrifices so that the corrupt government could loot the resources ruthlessly, promote corruption and plunge the country into darkness. He said that the rally of Pakistan Muslim League-N is the rally of saving the country from swindlers, looters, thieves and enemies. He said this is not a political rally but is only for the survival of the country. No objective can be more important than survival of the country, he added. He said that rally of October 28 is an effort to save Pakistan. He said that the leadership of PML-N will not hesitate to render any sacrifice for the stability, survival and security of the country. He was addressing the meetings of office-bearers of Pakistan Muslim League-N Labour Wing and Trade Union, Members National & Provincial Assembly belonging to Faisalabad and Sargodha Divisions, officer-bearers of party and traders, here today. Provincial Ministers, Members National and Provincial Assembly were also present on the occasion. Addressing the meetings, the CM said that Main Nawaz Sharif displayed tolerance for the promotion of democracy in the country but the federal government promoted plundering and corruption instead of benefiting from his sagacious attitude for strengthening the democratic institutions, service to the masses and resolution of their problems. He said that record corruption was made by the federal government in the history of the country. He said that incompetent and corrupt rulers destroyed the image of the country and instead of developing national resources and eliminating corruption, they are wandering around with begging bowl. PIA, Railways, Steel Mills and other national institutions were ruined and the people were forced to face worst load-shedding, he added. He said that today, country is facing serious threats and there is a dire need of its survival. Governments have been toppled and coming into power but today, Pakistan is demanding that it should be rid of looters and elements of vested interests. Pakistan should be transformed in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal where in the light of Islamic teachings, justice is upheld and equal distribution of resources prevails, he added. He said that whatever now we are is just due to Pakistan but corrupt rulers are trying to ruin the country and now the situation is that they are least interested in any loss to the country and they dont even bother over the scams of corruption. How incompetent rulers, bowing before Aghyaar for the sake of few coins, can protect the national interests, he questioned. He said that the entire nation was shocked over the Abottabad incident but President Zardari congratulated on successful operation by writing a letter to the Washington Post which hurt the hearts of the nation. How this person can be sympathizer and well wisher of Pakistan, he asked. He said that if we did not stand up for the security and existence of the country, the coming generations will never forgive us. He said that they have stood up for the survival of the country under the leadership of Nawaz Sharif. He opined that Nawaz Sharif is the only leader who can put the country on the road to progress by steering it out of crises. He said that the entire nation is standing with Nawaz Sharif and on this critical juncture, will prove by changing the course of history that this country is not for the thieves and the looters. Shahbaz Sharif said that Punjab government is spending all resources for the welfare of the masses and providing them basic amenities. He said that development projects are being completed expeditiously in the backward and less developed areas. He said that the poor have as much right over the quality facilities of education and health as elite, therefore, Daanish schools have been set up in less developed areas and Aashiyana Housing Schemes have been started for providing shelter to the shelterless people.
