ISLAMABAD (APP) - Secretary Capital Administration and Development Division (CADD) Junaid Iqbal Chaudhry has established an Epidemic Task Force in Islamabad to ensure continued surveillance and prevention of infectious and communicable diseases. This has been done under the directives of Prime Minister of Pakistan, said a press release issued here on Friday. Junaid Iqbal showed his satisfaction over the teamwork of federal capitals health workforce to control the incidents of Dengue as only 559 new cases were registered with only 15 new admissions on Friday. He also appreciated effective clinical services rendered by the hospitals of federal hospital. Federal Government Poly Clinic Hospital has opened an Epidemic Management Cell with 25 indoor beds and a team of physician in G-7/3-4, under supervision of Dr Shaukat Hamid Kiani, Executive Director. Round-the-clock availability of doctors and nurses along with required facilities has helped mitigate the cases of Dengue virus. A Platelet Separator Machine and other facilities are also being arranged through special funds provided through the Prime Ministers special grant. The said Task Force will get inputs from all stakeholders and organizations, including Polyclinic Hospital, PIMS, WHO, ICT, CDA, NIH etc, under the direct supervision of Secretary Capital Administration and Development Division.
