KHANEWAL - The Punjab government is spending a hefty amount for the promotion of higher education across the Punjab, said District Officer Colleges Prof Jehangir.

He was addressing a ceremony at Govt Degree College for Women Abdul Hakeem. He said that in Khanewal, millions of rupees was being spent for improvement of education. He said that Punjab government had allocated huge funds for colleges and set up two new colleges at Abdul Hakeem and Serai Sidhu recently.

He said that co-curricular activities were equally important for upbringing of students. District Khanewal grabbed six positions in different competitions out of 12 in Multan division held under Punjab Youth Festival, it was said. Later, he inspected the pace of construction work at the college and instructed the contractor to complete the project before the winter to enable girls study inside.
