Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Monday issued contempt of court notice to Balochistan Chief Minister Aslam Raisani and Chairman National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) and other concerned officers on non-payment of funds to earthquake victims.

IHC Chief Justice Iqbal Hameedur-Rehman was hearing a petition filed regarding contempt of court against the Balochistan government and other concerned authorities did not still distribute the funds to the victim people of earthquake on direction of the IHC. 

The court issued contempt of court notice to Aslam Raisani, NDMA Chairman Dr Zafar Qadir, Balochistan chief secretary and other concerned officers and sought written reply within 14 days.

It is worth mentioning that few months ago, IHC ordered the Balochistan government to ensure distribution of funds to victim people of earthquake of Ziarat and Pishin areas but the court order was not implemented. On this, a petition for contempt of court was submitted in the court.
