ISLAMABAD  - Minister for Interior Rehman Malik Sunday said Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) should leave the attitude of dual standard and accept the Supreme Court's verdict in Asghar Khan case instead of terming the verdict ‘injustice’.He said whenever there is a court decision against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), PML-N leaders praise and talk about independence of judiciary, but what happened to them when there is a verdict against them and they started criticising.The minister was talking to journalists at a dinner he hosted for Indian Supreme Court Bar Association delegation, currently visiting Pakistan on the invitation of Supreme Court Bar Association of Pakistan.He said National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) was not framed by PPP and it is the party which accepted the court verdict with open heart and even lost its Prime Minister.Rehman Malik, while commenting on the statement of Opposition Leader in National Assembly Ch Nisar Ali Khan on the verdict in Asghar Khan case, said that it exposed many faces involved in the conspiracy and media trial against PPP.He expressed the hope that the Supreme Court would take suo moto notice and issue contempt notice to Ch Nisar Ali Khan. The minister said the verdict revealed the truth before the world and added conspiracies were always hatched to snatch the mandate of Pakistan People’s Party. He said now no one will be allowed to commit a dacoity on the mandate of the people.The minister said it was the vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto to take along all the parties and added President Asif Ali Zardari is taking forward the reconciliation policy envisioned by Shaheed BB. He said instead of criticising the verdict, the PML-N should file a review petition and face the trial.Earlier, addressing the dinner, he said the basic problem of both India and Pakistan is poverty and called for need of more efforts from both sides to ensure development and prosperity.The minister said at the same time the other core issues such as Kashmir and water should also be addressed as ‘we want friendship and strong friendship based on mutual respect and confidence’.He said legal fraternity from both sides was playing good role and proposed that a task force having lawyers from both sides should be formed to discuss all issues so as to find the solution.The minister announced Nankana Sahib as holy city and also visa concessions for lawyers from India. He also announced that yatrees from India would be exempted from police reporting.The dinner was also addressed by President SCBA of Pakistan Yasin Azad, President of Indian SCBA Praveeen H Parekh and others.
