LAHORE – The PTI senior leader Vice Admiral (r) Javed Iqbal while announcing resigning from the party claimed that PTI has become a ‘club of former partners of Musharraf’ leaving no place for the ideological workers.

He made this announcement and claim while addressing a press conference on Sunday at Lahore Press Club.  “I joined the PTI in 2004 because of its revolutionary programme and not because of Imran Khan, as Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) is my only leader,” Javed said.

He maintained that the party, which represented the working class had entirely deviated from its founding principles after October 30, 2011 leaving no room for the ideological activists.

Criticising the newcomers cum Musharraf partners in the PTI, he claimed that Khursheed Mehmood Kasuri was the architect of Pakistan’s policy on so-called war on terror in dictator’s regime and now he was part of the policy making team of Imran Khan.  He added that party was full of retired bureaucrats and technocrats of which many have been refused entry into other mainstream political parties.

Javed said he raised voice against the opportunist leaders in several party meetings but he was silenced by Imran Khan himself who was under the complete influence of the newcomers or so-called electable.

Hamid Khan, the PTI central leader and close aide of Imran Khan when contacted said that he was surprised by the news of Javed Iqbal’s resignation, as he was a sincere worker of the party.
