PESHAWAR - In order to create and polish leadership qualities among the youth, a two-day workshop was held under the auspices of Pakistan-US Alumni Network (PUAN) at Edwards College, Peshawar on Saturday.

The aim of the seminar was to bring together a diverse groups of students under one roof in order to create awareness on how to promote democratic leadership and its sub categories well in Pakistan.

Addressing the concluding session, a local journalist Iftikhar Firdous, said that in the present era social media along with mass media was playing a pivotal role in mind setting and as proved by the recent revolutions in the Middle-East countries.

He stressed on the participants to use social media for constructive purposes and don’t waste time in unnecessary matters on social media. He further said that we should use social media for strengthening democracy in Pakistan and take concrete steps to make Pakistan an economically, socially and educationally stronger country.

Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Dr Shahzad Bangash highlighted different aspects of democracy. He said that we should take steps to promote and strengthen democracy by increasing literacy rate, economic uplift, try to eliminate the factors of racism, extremism and militancy from our society. e added that there is also a need for a system of accountability. He stressed the youth to come forward and work for a stronger Pakistan.

Hamad Saeed, Master Trainer School of Leadership Karachi, on this occasion, highlighted different aspects of leadership development while Saeed, Master Trainer gave a comprehensive lecture on creative writing. At the end, Salman Ahmad, Coordinator Curricular activities distributed certificates amongst the participants.
