LAHORE - Bhutto Shaheed Benazir Workers Movement led by Naheed Khan and Dr Safdar Abbasi is going to hold a workers convention in Lahore on Wednesday (today).
Old PPP guards who are not happy with present PPP leadership are likely to attend today’s gathering to be held at Aiwan-e-Iqbal, Lahore.
The estranged PPP couple would announce its future political strategy on the occasion.
 Naheed Khan, who served as political secretary to the slain PPP leader Benazir Bhutto for many years raised standard of rebellion against Asif Ali Zardari after she developed serious difference with the new leadership. The role she was performing while working closely with Benazir Bhutto was assigned to another lady Rukhsana Bangash when Asif Ali Zardari assumed party command.
Her husband, Dr Safdar Abbasi was also a close aide of Benazir Bhutto, but Zardari kept him at a distance too.
The couple founded a new political organization some two years back to propagate their message among like-minded workers.
