ISLAMABAD  - The Supreme Court will decide Prime Minister Mian Nawaz Sharif disqualification case tomorrow.

A three-member bench headed by Justice Jawwad S Khawaja, and comprising Justice Mushir Alam and Justice Qazi Faez Isa heard Pakistan Tehreek Insaf (PTI), PML-Q President Chaudhry Shujjat Hussain and a lawyer Gohar Nawaz Sindhu's petitions.

At the start of the proceedings, Irfan Qadir representing PTI leader Ishaq Khakwani and Brig (retd) Samson Sharaf, stated he had filed an appeal against the SC registrar's objections for the recusal of Justice Jawwad from the bench. Justice Faez told that his application had already decided by the chief justice.

Irfan Qadir told that he had second application yesterday (Tuesday). He contended that his petition involves very serious questions of public importance, touching the fundamental rights of the petitioners. However, Justice Faez inquired from him what were his questions. The learned counsel failed to reply and said that the questions were of national importance and this is the case of first impression.

He said in the ex-PM Yousaf Raza Gilani and Zulfikar Ali Bhutto cases the bench itself had requested for forming a larger bench. Justice Jawwad told him that they wanted to know about the case before its decision, adding might be they recommend for constituting the larger bench.

The judge said that the petitioners often demand that so and so judge don't hear his cases. He said that it was possible that appeal against SC registrar be decided before the next hearing and adjourned the case till Thursday.
