Finance Minister Asad Umar will chair a meeting of the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) today.
The ECC members are expected to accord approval for a Rs2.04 per unit increase in the price of electricity.
A summary regarding a subsidy for agricultural tube well consumers in Balochistan is also on the agenda.
During the last ECC meeting, members were briefed on the government's 100-day plan and formation of various task forces, sources added. Members of the ECC were also taken into confidence regarding the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme and the relevant ministries briefed them on acquiring land for the project as well as its economic outline.
Earlier this month, an International Monetary Fund (IMF) team which visited Pakistan called for a further hike in gas and power tariffs.
